Chateau Rouge (BE)

The abandoned Château Rouge (Red Castle) was build in the late 19th century. There is not a lot of information known of this place. What i found is that some people believe it was at one time a retirement home for the elderly. It was converted into a luxury hotel after World War II. It was closed in 2009 for financial reasons and has been abandoned ever since.

The name of the building probably comes from the red painted walls. The place used to be of good quality with loads of furniture but when i visited there was not much left.

Other names: Chateau Bami, Hotel Torrance

Built: 1889
Abandoned: 2009
Visited: 04 january 2015
